These eight books, for children 4-8, are told through a beatiful story and captivating illustrations of animals seeking advice on how to preserve their habitat and their endangered friends.

Oliver the Otter is the story of a curious sea otter named Ollie for short, who wants to know why his environment is becoming polluted and whether the oceans will be safe for him and his friends in the future. Through Ollie’s quest, we learn about the life of these furry animals and how litter and other human actions can threaten their habitat. This book is the first installment in the Friends of the Sea book series that tells the story of four animal friends who depend on the sea and why it’s important for all of us to take care of the environment.

Darcy the Dolphin is the tale of a joyful, caring dolphin who delights in educating her otter friend Ollie about their home, the sea.  Like Ollie, Darcy gets much of her food from the ocean’s shallow waters, but the reefs in those waters are becoming threatened.  But Darcy’s biggest concern is the drift-net fishing that has captured other dolphins like her friend, Gus, who joins a cast of other dolphins at a nearby aquatic park.

Friends of the Land is a similar series of four animal friends who depend on the land.
