Kids
in Action
One
thing that kids have in common is that we all share Mother
Earth as our place to live! More and more, children are discovering
how everything is connected in our world.
Global
Friends Foundation promotes friendship among young people
as well as friendship with the animals who share our habitat.
Friends
of the Sea™ is a book series that tells the
story of four animal friends who depend on the sea and why
it’s important for all of us to take care of the environment.
Friends of the Land™ is a similar series
of animal friends who depend on the land.
What
You Can Do Can Do To Help Our Friends of the Sea & Land
You
or your class can brainstorm how to help the Environment in
your area. Be Creative!
How
do you, your family, your classroom, or your school help Mother
Earth? Write to us so we can share your ideas so others may
also join in to help our environment. Only the most creative
ideas will be highlighted—so be creative!
Here
are just a few suggestions. We know you will have many more
creative ideas!
- Make
a class mural of what your class did to help the environment
in your community or school. Take a picture of the mural
and write about the actions you took to help Mother Earth.
- In
your classroom, make team posters of what each team did
to help make our world a better place to live. Take a picture
of your poster close up. And, you can take a picture of
your poster with the kids who worked on each poster as well.
Send the photos to us, and be sure to include a caption
in your e-mail to explain what the photo is about and how
we can get in touch with you. Make sure the teams put
into practice what their posters show on how they are helping
their environment.
- If
you have a fabulous idea to help the environment and make
Mother Earth a better place to live but are too young right
now to make this happen, write about your idea or invention
as best you can. Send illustrations or photos – and
be sure to include a caption.
- How
did you help your family change some habits to
help our environment?
Travis,
whom you may have met in one of our videos or books, will
be reading your suggestions about the environment along with
a team of educators. You never know if Travis and his
camera crew will show up at your school to
highlight your idea in an upcoming book or video!
