Global Friends Foundation Gives Back

Our goal at Global Friends Foundation is to help schools, teachers, and children with the needed supplies to help further children’s understanding that we all live on one planet and we need to take care of each other and the environment, including the oceans that interconnect us all.

By helping children understand one another’s nationalities, customs, cultures, hopes and dreams, they discover they have more in common than differences.

Friendship is the core to peace in our world – friends with one another and friends with our environment.

Global Friends Foundation gives back in these ways:

Author Visits to K-5 - The author of Friends of the Sea™ and Travis Travels the World™ can visit your school for a book reading and a presentation determined on the needs of your school. The author will bring your school something special for each class and will make a donation called Feeding the Mind (see below) in your school’s name. Your students get to pick the continent where the donation will be made. Author Visits book up quickly; so email your request in advance to mjensen@globalfriendsfoundation.org if you are interested.

”Feeding the Minds” - A percentage of the proceeds from our Friends of the Sea and Friends of the Land book series will be used to buy books for needy schools where many of the classrooms don’t have any books at all.

Scholarships will be given to students who write essays from their heart on the topic, “How Diversity Enriches Our World.” This will be after a representative from Global Friends Foundation makes a school visit and gives an interactive presentation called, One World, Many Hands.  This program is for middle and high schools around the world. 

Travis Travels helping schools - For each destination that Travis visits, a donation will be made to needy schools to help teachers educate children in their communities about the world we live in. In our experience, the majority of schools around the world are lacking in basic supplies, books and teaching materials. As a result, children are deprived knowing their place in the world and how they fit in.

Travis Travels helping the environment - For each destination that Travis visits, a donation also will be made to help the environment in that area to achieve our objective of bringing about environmental awareness to young children.
